Who you are dealing with

A road freight partner in the Antwerp–Ghent belt

NORDICWAY TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS BV is a road freight and logistics company working out of Lochristi, in the middle of the Antwerp–Ghent industrial belt. We arrange full truck load, groupage, container trucking and customs-supported movements across Europe, and we run the operation from one dispatch desk you can actually reach.

If your pallets need to leave a warehouse in East Flanders on Tuesday and be unloaded near Lyon on Thursday, that is the kind of job we quote every day.

What we move, and where it goes

Most of our work is international road freight: trailers leaving Belgium for France, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK, with regular runs further into Scandinavia and Southern Europe. Four load types cover nearly everything we quote.

Full truck load

One shipper fills the trailer

Direct routing, no consolidation

A full truck load makes sense when your shipment is large enough that mixing it with other cargo only adds handling and time. You get one loading point, one delivery point and a trailer matched to the cargo: curtainsider for palletised goods, container chassis when the load arrives in a box, flat or specialised equipment for awkward dimensions.

Groupage

Shared trailer, fixed lane

Pay for the loading metres you use

Not every shipment needs 33 pallets of space. Groupage lets several shippers share a trailer on a fixed lane, so you pay for the space you occupy. The trade-off is a slightly longer transit, because the vehicle collects and distributes along the route. Part load sits between the two: more space than a groupage slot, less than a dedicated trailer.

Container trucking

Antwerp-Bruges and the Ghent hubs

Terminal, depot and consignee legs

We move containers between terminals, depots and consignees, including the inland hubs that serve Ghent and the wider Scheldt region. That means dealing with terminal appointment systems, release references and demurrage clocks, not just driving from A to B. Getting the paperwork right at pick-up avoids storage charges that can dwarf the transport cost itself.

Cross-trade

Between two countries that are not Belgium

Quoted on request

Cross-trade suits manufacturers with plants in several countries and traders who buy and sell across European borders. These jobs need a carrier comfortable with two sets of national rules and, sometimes, two languages of documentation. Project cargo, where a single movement involves several trailers or special permits, is planned separately with a named coordinator.

Customs clearance and cross-border paperwork

Freight crossing out of the EU, or arriving into it, needs a customs entry that matches the goods exactly. We work with customs agents and hold the documents that keep a trailer moving. Mistakes at the border cost a day, sometimes more.

Transport documents

CMR and commercial paperwork

Every international movement travels with a CMR consignment note, a commercial invoice and a packing list that agree with each other. When those three documents match the load, the border is a formality.

Transit and origin

T1 declarations and certificates

T1 transit declarations apply where goods move under duty suspension, and buyers sometimes ask for a certificate of origin. Both are arranged before the truck reaches the crossing, not at it.

UK traffic

Commodity codes before the border

Post-Brexit formalities for UK loads are routine for us now, but they still need correct commodity codes and declared values in place in advance. Send them with the booking and the entry is prepared while the trailer is still loading.

Where our lanes run

Benelux and northern France are our home ground. Germany, the UK and Scandinavia follow, and we cover Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece on scheduled groupage or dedicated loads. Because we combine our own planning with a vetted partner network, we can quote destinations that sit outside our regular routes without pretending it is a lane we run every week.

How to read this table

Every row states how we cover that destination. Where the entry says partner network, the load is planned and executed with a carrier we work with regularly, and you will know that before you book.

Benelux and northern France Daily Own trailers on fixed lanes
Germany and the United Kingdom Several weekly Own planning, customs prepared
Scandinavia Weekly Scheduled groupage or dedicated load
Spain and Portugal Scheduled Groupage lane, dedicated on request
Italy and Greece Scheduled Groupage lane, dedicated on request
Outside these routes On request Vetted partner network, told to you up front

Equipment matched to the cargo

Trailer choice decides whether a shipment arrives intact. Tell us about fragile, high or overweight items early, because permits and escort rules for abnormal loads take time to organise, and a trailer swapped at the dock is a day lost.

What we run and what we arrange

Curtainsider
Palletised freight that loads from the side as well as the rear.
Box trailer
Goods that need weather protection or a lockable, closed body.
Container chassis
20ft and 40ft boxes between port, depot and consignee.
Tipping and walking floor
Bulk cargo loaded and discharged without pallets.
Refrigerated equipment
Temperature-sensitive loads, arranged through partner operators.
Abnormal dimensions
Flat and specialised trailers, with permits planned before the load is booked.

How a quote turns into a delivery

You send the shipment details: collection and delivery addresses, cargo description, weights, dimensions, loading and unloading requirements, and any deadline. We come back with a rate, a transit time and the trailer type we intend to use.

  1. Step one

    Send the load details

Addresses, cargo, weights, dimensions and your deadline. Dock times and site access notes at this stage keep the final invoice close to the estimate.

  2. Step two

    Rate, transit time, trailer

Once you confirm, the load goes into the planning for that lane and you receive the driver and vehicle details before collection.

  3. Step three

    Tracking to proof of delivery

Tracking information and proof of delivery follow the normal course of the job, and one contact handles your file from quote to invoice.

Cost drivers in Belgian road freight

Three things move a road freight rate: distance, fuel and tolls. Belgium and its neighbours have been tightening toll and compliance conditions, and fuel prices swing with the market, so quotes are usually valid for a defined window rather than indefinitely.

Loading and unloading time matters too, because a trailer held at a dock for six hours is a trailer that cannot earn on the next leg. Giving us accurate dock times and site access details at quote stage keeps the final invoice close to the estimate.

For distances up to roughly 1,000 kilometres inside Europe, road freight is usually the fastest door-to-door option, and often the only one that reaches a factory yard without transhipment. Rail and short sea can be cheaper on very long hauls or bulky volumes, but they add handling and terminal time. If your cargo is time-critical, high-value, or simply not container-friendly, a truck remains hard to beat. We will say so plainly, even when a competitor's intermodal quote looks cheaper on paper.

Working with shippers in East Flanders

Lochristi puts us a short drive from Ghent's industrial zones, the Antwerp port area and the E17 and E40 motorways, which is why the base works well for export-oriented businesses in the region. We deal with production planners, warehouse managers and freight forwarders who need a straight answer about capacity, not a sales pitch.

If a lane is congested, a terminal is backed up, or a rate has moved because of tolls and fuel, we tell you at quote stage rather than after the fact.

Why shippers keep a regular carrier

Spot market rates look attractive until a load is cancelled at short notice. A carrier who knows your loading bay, your paperwork habits and your delivery windows removes friction that never shows up on a rate confirmation. We are a small enough operation to know your file, and connected enough to cover lanes beyond our own trailers.

Ready when your next load is

Send us the pallet count and both postcodes

If you are unsure whether groupage, part load or a dedicated trailer fits, send the pallet count, weights and the postcode of both ends, and we will tell you honestly which option is cheaper for that specific run.

Questions shippers ask before booking

Short answers to the five things that come up most often on a first quote request. If your case is not here, phone the desk during working hours and ask directly.

Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00. Phone 953482109, or email [email protected].

What is the difference between groupage, part load and full truck load?

Groupage shares a trailer between several shippers and you pay for the space you use. Part load is a larger share of the trailer, still not exclusive. Full truck load means the vehicle is dedicated to your shipment alone, with direct routing and no consolidation stops.

Do you handle customs clearance for shipments leaving Belgium?

We prepare and coordinate the transport documents, including CMR notes and transit declarations where they apply, and work with customs agents for entries. For UK and other non-EU traffic, correct commodity codes and values must be in place before the truck reaches the border.

Which countries do you cover?

Benelux, France, Germany and the UK are core lanes. Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece are covered on scheduled groupage or dedicated loads. Destinations outside our regular routes are quoted through a vetted partner network.

How is a road freight rate calculated?

Distance, fuel and tolls form the base. Loading and unloading times, trailer type, weight and any special permits adjust it. Quotes are typically valid for a set window because fuel and toll conditions change.

How do I get a quote?

Send collection and delivery addresses, cargo description, weights, dimensions and your deadline through the contact page. We reply with a rate, transit time and the trailer type we plan to use.

A steady carrier versus the spot market

Keep one carrier who knows your loading bay

Planning the same lanes week after week removes friction that never appears on a rate confirmation. Tell us the lanes you run most and we will plan them as regular capacity rather than quoting each load from scratch.
